Feeling annoyed as several little things had come together; things that test us during our lives. Trying to put them into perspective when the "Big Issue" seller approached me. Immediately your blog post was in my mind. Smiled, as I had seen the guy around and he was obviously making an effort, and put my hand in my pocket thinking £3. The guy asked if I knew where the Citizens Advice was. I said that it closed for a while and then opened up somewhere I couldn't remember but didn't know if it was open still. He said that he had asked someone and was told the nearest one is Loughborough. Thought that there may be other places other than the Citizens Advice could help so I asked him what the problem was. All that came out was genuine to me; hostels and no room available at the Dawn Centre... Bottom line is that he desparately needed £20 for a deposit (the key and electronic key) to secure a flat that he had been offered today by the City Council. He had been given a time limit of 15:00 to get back to them. £20 given. The gentleman was amazed, made sure of me then off in the direction of the Council Offices. I would not have done that without the comments on your blog which brought back things you have said about most of the sellers are genuine. When I don't have my bottle of Gordons Gin and box of chocolates at Christmas I will think of him. Hopefully it has worked out for him. Gordons Gin and chocolates are the last thing my body needs.
