I haven’t seen the last episode of Line of Duty yet so I’m spending the day trying to avoid spoilers. I feel like The Likely Lads spending all day trying to avoid finding out the football results and being told just at the last minute. No spoilers please!

I started my first novel, aged 8, in a draughty vicarage, finishing it 14 years later. My first poem emerged on a Sussex beach in 1965, but I didn’t return to poetry until 2007: I’m still trying to find out why.
I have published short stories, poems and reviews and am a recognised performance poet. I’ve been married 21 years and have two children, Holly, 20 and Daniel, 17; but my husband now wants to be known as female. My struggles with this and its effects on my writing, are the springboard for short stories and a radio play.

I know exactly how you feel: I’m like that with the F1 result, given that I won’t pay Sky’s extortionate supplement for the ‘privilege’ of watching the races live, so I have to be extra vigilant that I don’t inadvertently hear the result on the radio news, or see somebody’s careless Facebook post, before I can watch the recorded highlights. I hope you enjoy the conclusion of LoD anyway! Cheers, Jon.
You did well to avoid the ‘storm’ of public outrage on Twitter, and other platforms.
I won’t spoil anything for you.
Promise!
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks. I’ve seen it now
