Happy new year to all my readers. Thanks for sticking with me in 2021 and I look forward to your company in 2022. Here’s hoping for a better year – I’d like to see the back of covid and this government… oh, and I saw a lovely Yamaha 125 in a showroom window. I’d like that too please.

I started my first novel, aged 8, in a draughty vicarage, finishing it 14 years later. My first poem emerged on a Sussex beach in 1965, but I didn’t return to poetry until 2007: I’m still trying to find out why.
I have published short stories, poems and reviews and am a recognised performance poet. I’ve been married 21 years and have two children, Holly, 20 and Daniel, 17; but my husband now wants to be known as female. My struggles with this and its effects on my writing, are the springboard for short stories and a radio play.

The email notification for your post mentioned a Yamagata 125; I thought: “Blimey—that’s a new one on me! Still: some of the best motor bikes are made in Japan, so it should be alright.” Balance has now been restored 😉 Happy new year, and here’s to better times. Cheers, Jon.
Ha ha, yes! 😀
I once had a Yamaha 125 automatic scooter. I used it to commute across London from Surrey Docks to Notting Hill Gate. A great little bike, and very economical. It was like this one, but dark green.
Happy New Year, Sarada.
Best wishes, Pete.
Yh they’re very practical. I’m afraid I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to bikes – only a ‘proper’ one will do
